Last season, Texas Tech football made big strides on the defensive side of the ball. We caught a glimpse of the Red Raiders becoming a more balanced team, and it led to a 4-1 start. But once the defense took a step back, the team saw its 4-1 start vanish and finished the season 6-6 before losing in the Birmingham Bowl against South Florida.
When locked in and focused, Tech's defense was a force to be reckoned with. Fortunately, it has all but one starter returning for 2018. The Red Raiders finished sixth in the country with 29 forced turnovers.
