Freshman Receiver Sterling Galban Tears ACL

The Texas Tech football team was unable to make it through the spring completely healthy. True freshman slot receiver Sterling Galban tore a knee ligament while at practice effectively ending any hopes he had of earning a spot in the crowded Texas Tech receiver rotation this fall.

However, it was expected that the Burnet, Texas native was likely to redshirt this season and now that will be a certainty as he will miss up to nine months recovering from the injury. If Galban was going to impact the 2018 Texas Tech football team, his best shot was likely to be as a punt and kickoff returner where he worked in the spring as Texas Tech looks to replace Keke Coutee and Cam Batson who handled those duties last season.
