Chris Beard is locked in.
Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt and Beard have agreed to a six-year contract extension worth $19,050,000, the school announced Monday, one that will take Beard through the 2023-24 season.
The second-year head coach was named Big 12 Co-Coach of the Year on Sunday, having guided the Red Raiders (23-8 overall, 11-7 Big 12) to as high as No. 6 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll this season -- a program-best ranking.
"Coach Beard continues to elevate Texas Tech basketball to a record level of success," Hocutt said in a statement.
