Scott Schreiber didn't even play, but Nebraska somehow, got by without the man who hits five home runs in the last three games.
Matt Waldron provided plenty on the mound with an eight-inning, three-hit, seven strikeout performance to lead NU to a 2-0 victory over Indiana Friday night at Haymarket Park.
Waldron, who threw the first complete shutout win for Nebraska since 2010 (a week ago against Penn State), sizzled with a complete command of his fastball and off-speed pitches to fan a career-high seven and increase his scoreless innings streak to 17.
Hoosier third baseman Luke Miller singled advanced on a sacrifice and reached third when Brian Willhite grounded to Waldron, who spun and threw to second for the force, but a collision between shortstop Stevem Reveles and second baseman Jake Schleppenbach prevented turning the double play.
