Shawn Eichorst oozes positive energy. He not only emphasizes positiveness, he puts it in a bear hug.
It's sort of refreshing in a world increasingly awash in cynicism.
Eichorst was his usual upbeat self — and well-prepared — during our lunch last week. He knew the topic beforehand: Nebraska's ninth-place standing in our tally of average finish in Big Ten competition across all sports for 2015-16.
"There's room for improvement — similar to last year's conversation," said the fourth-year NU athletic director.
The Huskers were 11th in the 14-school conference during the 2014-15 athletic year with an average finish of 7.
