Report positive but finds Eichorst should be more open to input

A review of Husker Athletics conducted by the private SilverStone Group found the department's leadership should be open to more input from coaches and staff members.

Following a lengthy review process commissioned by NU President Hank Bounds in January, the university released a summary of SilverStone's findings on Tuesday.

The findings within the 21-page report are generally positive, saying Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst is viewed as having a "favorable leadership style" according to most of the people surveyed.

In a statement issued with the report, Bounds said: "We have the right focus -- the success and well-being of our student-athletes -- and Nebraskans should be proud that we are a leader in this area.
