Luensmann, Schreiber Honored on Wednesday

Lincoln – A pair of Nebraska baseball players were awarded for their 2016 seasons on Wednesday, as Chad Luensmann was named a Freshman All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and Scott Schreiber earned second-team Midwest All-Region accolades from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

Wednesday marked the second All-America honor for Luensmann, as he was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball last week. Luensmann was Nebraska’s closer in 2016, filling the shoes of Josh Roeder, who set the school record for career saves last season with 33. Luensmann finished the year with 13 saves in 14 chances, setting a freshman record at Nebraska.
