The Nebraska women’s basketball team lost its two highest-rated recruits from what was once a five-player 2016 signing class that ranked No. 14 nationally.

Mi’Cole Cayton, a guard from Stockton, California, told the Journal Star she’s eliminated the Huskers from consideration. Cayton called Nebraska coach Amy Williams Monday evening to tell her she would not be coming to Nebraska.

“It’s just because Coach (Connie) Yori isn’t on staff anymore, and like Natalie (Romeo) said, there is a lot of stuff going on with the team itself. I just needed to look in a different direction,” Cayton said.
