The Florida Panthers ended a three-game homestand on a sour note, dropping a 7-3 decision to the Colordao Avalanche, who entered the BB&T Center on a four-game losing streak.
Mikko Rantanen opened the scoring 10:56 into the first period. Rantanen swept a loose puck in the slot by James Reimer after Mark Barberio’s shot didn’t get through a scrum in front of the net. Gabriel Landeskog drew the secondary assist on Rantanen’s ninth.
