COMMERCE CITY — A day after Tim Howard was suspended three games and fined an undisclosed amount by MLS for “foul language directed toward a fan” and an “altercation” with a fan in Kansas City last Sunday, the Rapids goalkeeper wasn’t talking about the incident as the Rapids prepared to take on Real Salt Lake on Saturday night.
“He’s not ready to speak,” a Rapids spokesman said, adding that Howard would not attend the evening’s game.
The Rapids did make a statement Friday after the league made its announcement.
“Tim Howard made an unfortunate and regrettable mistake for which he is being disciplined by MLS,” the statement said in part.
