Burgundy Wave received a tip from an unnamed source that former Rapids striker Conor Casey will be soon be named as a Rapids assistant coach. Casey looks to be filling a vacancy that will be left by current Rapids assistant coach John Spencer.
MLS beat writer Sam Stejskal intimated that Casey was due to receive a coaching position over twitter this afternoon, reacting to a Jeff Carlisle tweet from earlier about Spencer, who looks to be taking a position with the San Jose Earthquakes.
As reported by @JeffreyCarlisle, John Spencer has left Rapids.
