It was confirmed by Bruce Feldman, Ryan Gorcey, and ESPN that Texas Tech transfer, Davis Webb, was named the starting QB for the 2016 California Golden Bears.
Davis Webb transferred to Cal after originally committing to the Colorado Buffalos. He entered a crowded QB field with both Chase Forrest and Ross Bowers vying for the starting QB position. At Texas Tech he started as a True Freshman under HC Kliff Kingsbury who runs a similar offense to Cal OC Jake Spavital.
In the last 3 days of practices he has show a good deep ball as well as a good command of the offense.
