Cal football is off to a good start. After taking care of Hawaii, the Bears have now extended their streak of opening day victories to three. But considering the opponent last year was Grambling State and the one this season was Hawaii, that’s not really much to brag about.
There were lots of things to be excited about (the offense) and worried about (the defense) after watching Cal’s first game. But it’s really hard to make any kind of clear judgements after one game against a team who the Bears were favored to beat by 21.
This week’s matchup with San Diego State should be able to provide fans a better look into exactly how this new-look 2016 team will handle the season.
